Maxtor U01E160 Review: Maxtor Basics Personal Storage 3200 160 GB External Hard Drive. I bought one and there is a problem with the USB interface. My Sony VIAO, with Windows XP Pro, complained that it was plugged into a slower USB 1.1 hub. It wasn't.I tried on another computer, also running Windows XP Pro, and after it initially appeared to recognize the drive the computer failed to work with the drive or even recognize it when it was plugged in.I guess I'm lucky.
